The reading for this week of class covered many things, one of which was the differences and similarities between, leadership, entrepreneurship and strategies. There are many people who have been great at one or two of these things and some who have been great at all three. Selecting Just three people to compare and contrast can be difficult, as there are quite a few to choose from. There are many people who have exhibited the skills of a great leader, strategist and entrepreneur. The three I have chosen to look at are: Howard Schultz, for his leader ship, Bill Gates, for his success as an entrepreneur and Mark Zuckerberg for his excellent strategies in running the social media site, Facebook. Schultz grew up in an underprivileged family, however he did not allow this to discourage him, as he sought to be the very best he could be. This applies to the way he runs his business as well. Schultz told Forbes in 2016, “Performance is the price of admission.” (1). This attitude carries over to all of his employees, allowing Starbucks to provide excellent service to every customer that enters there store. Bill Gates on the other hand, while also a great leader, is perhaps best known for the way he excels as an entrepreneur. The text describes an entrepreneur as someone who asks the question “what is this company’s purpose?” (2).
