* “12 Angry Men”, in its 96 powerful minutes brings forth a plethora of human characteristics. It highlights those leadership traits which can help steer the thinking of an entire group for the overall benefit of an organization/community. The main lead Davis (played by Henry Fonda) marvelously portrays that how leadership is all about effective communication and persuasion and with these qualities one can become a leader even without a title!

Some of the valuable leadership competencies which we thought were of vital importance to a leader are described as follows:

1. Persuasion power and courage: Fonda was the sole person who was not in the line of declaring the young defendant guilty. He had the courage to speak against the 11 other jurors and even after facing strong objections from others, he convinced them to not reach on a conclusion but to discuss it further. Keeping the composure and focus: The attitude with which a leader addresses his peers/team makes a lot of difference. Henry never forced his decisions on the other jurors and in an environment with such high levels of resistance it was essential for him to maintain his calm and focus on his main goal. Those who make their point in a calm and steady manner tend to be more influential than those who bring in temper and anger in their speech; this was more than evident in the movie.
