In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, there are multiple school boys who happen to be stranded on an island. In this story, William Golding illustrates beginnings of society, and its corrupt ways. The two main power figures in this story are characters named Jack and Ralph. As Ralph takes over, Jack slowly starts to disagree with him more and more, then eventually breaks off from Ralph’s ‘tribe.’ He takes most of the older boys with him, and they devolve to less civilized people over time. Both Jack and Ralph are very different, but they also have some similarities as kids stranded on an island. One difference between the two kids, is their way of leading.
