I am a member of many different associations at Canyon High School, but the club that has made the most impact in my life is Leadership. Leadership is a selective program on campus that invites students who have shown leadership qualities to improve them to make a bigger impact. I was nominated into the program my freshman year and have carried on with the program all throughout high school. The club’s main focus is to encourage students to use their leadership qualities to prevent and stop bullying. As nominees, we undergo a two-day training session that exposes us to ways to improve ourselves and those around us.
As captain of the varsity women’s golf team, Vice President of the Mount Airy High School Interact club, and my many experiences requiring leadership skills, I have proven that I am very involved in my school and in my community. Occasionally, an organism may inherit a faulty gene, causing it to have one or several detrimental characteristics known as genetic disorders. This may also occur due to environmental factors that the organism is exposed to, such as ultraviolet radiation, which damage its genes and cause alterations in them when they repair. The recent discovery of CRISPR-Cas9, or simply CRISPR, a defense system against viruses in bacteria, has presented the possibility of gene-editing in a way that is faster,

What Do I Want to Do With My Life? Leadership Statement I pride myself in being a good listener, and this has helped in all the leadership roles I held throughout my life thus far. I have experienced democratic leaderships through being a part of groups in college for class presentations, being a choir leader in my church, being a volunteer in a few projects, at my place of work and also as being a part of my family. The attributes of being a good leader has expanded with time through these experiences. Some of valuable leadership traits that I have been able to obtain and strengthen over time include: how to be a team player, effective listening skills, delivering constructive criticism, the need to understand people’s temperaments, and how to be a problem solver and a risk-bearer.
Most importantly, since the contents of this course are largely different from what I have learned in my major courses. I regard this as a rare opportunity for me to take on some new challenges, and I would like to take a chance to develop my leadership skills.
