My passion for sustainable organizational growth, in conjunction with a fundamental desire for meaningful work, aligns directly with the objectives and offerings of 180 Degrees Consulting. Throughout high-school, my involvement with social-impact organizations helped me transcend the limitations of curricula, and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. Indeed, through my active participation in both debating, and the student executive, I was able to further hone my leadership skills, and my public-speaking capacity. While I am currently only a first-year student at the University of Melbourne, I have already obtained significant high-level experience in digital marketing and social entrepreneurship, through certified online courseware. This combination of academic capacity, practical utility, and genuine interest in making the world a better place, positions me ideally for social impact consultancy with 180 Degrees. We grew our members from 10, all of whom were personal friends, to 20, then 30, then 60: suddenly, a whole flood of unfamiliar faces began arriving at our weekly meetings - different in year levels and friendship groups, but united in their desire to give back to the community. And with this increase in membership came an increase in impact. Starting the club with $500 seed money, which I had won from various public speaking competitions, I led Interact to directly raise over $40,000 towards providing sustainable sanitation solutions for girls’ schools in India.
