I think Wiesel achieved “to leave behind a legacy of words, of memories, to help prevent history from repeating itself” (vii). Night did leave a legacy of words and memories because it is a frequently read book, especially because it is part of some high schools’ curriculum and it leaves readers with a deeper understanding of what the Holocaust was and how it was perceived through the Jew’s perspective. I think it could also be powerful enough to avoid something like this from happening in the future.
Night explains what it was like to be a Jew during the Holocaust. It’s not filled with facts, statistics and a bunch of numbers that can leave people feeling indifferent. It doesn’t just list the amount of Jews killed in a certain year. It actually
