An extensive partnership exists within the construction industry and that of the government to bring about fair and safe standards for workers. Regulations have the ability to give businesses significant advantage and should be an important tool for policymakers. The construction industry has many regulatory issues in terms of building creation it has done through the municipal government of each province. The local building officers review site plans, applications for permits and the inspection of buildings. Every component of the industry has its own national body to provide regulatory restraint. Regulatory issues are govern by a specific area the workplace safety and insurance is covered by work safe BC. Secondly, the training for skilled trade workers for the construction industry goes through the industry training authority of BC. Thirdly, the information in regards to safe installation and the operation of technical systems and permits are control by the BC safety authority. Lastly, the safety regulation that is in relation to the design of construction and the occupancy of a building is under the BC building and safety standard branch. Each sector plays a role in the functioning of the construction industry and it is through these organizations that issues such as asbestos and its impact on the lives of individuals can be address and a ban in its level of building material is determined.
