Legally Blonde vs Mean Girls Elle Woods vs Regina George, who will win? Legally Blonde is a movie starring a “dumb blonde” named Elle Woods, played by Reese Witherspoon. It is about how she chases her then-ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School in the hopes of getting him back. Stating the famous quote “Warner: “You got into Harvard Law?” “What, like it’s hard?” In the end, she finds herself and breaks free from the dumb blonde narrative winning her client's case. Meanwhile, Mean Girls is a movie about how a popular girl named Regina George, starring Rachel McAdams, gets her life ruined for treating other people badly. Legally Blonde preaches a message that women can do anything they set their minds to and not let society define who they are. Mean Girls supports the message that weight gain is detrimental as Regina fixates on her weight throughout the movie, as well as how Mean Girls supports the message of girls against girls whereas Legally Blonde helps girls to find confidence and love within themselves. Little girls as we know are very impressionable and hearing these messages of either hate or love towards themselves and other people is sure to influence them and their thinking whether that be positive or negative. In this way, it's clear to see that Legally Blonde has a much more positive impact overall than Mean Girls. Secondly, Legally Blonde helps to break this dumb blonde stereotype set in place by society. As Elle Woods goes from a stuck-up rich party girl to a graduate of Harvard Law, we see her character shift and break out of the stereotypes placed on her. We do not see this in Mean Girls as Karen Smith, whom Amanda Seyfried plays, continues to portray the dumb blonde stereotype throughout the movie, having little to no character development and reinforcing the idea that all blonde
