Isaac Harris and Max Blanck are guilty of manslaughter. I think this becuase there is lots of evidence that proves that they are guilty. One piece of evidence that proves this is that there was a lack of fire safety in the factory, no sprinkler system, and no escape route. Another piece of evidence that proves that Blanck and Harris are guilty of manslaughter is that there were fire hazards everywhere, causing the fire to spread very quickly. The final piece of evidence that proves that Blanck and Harris are guilty of manslaughter is that Harris KNEW that the doors were locked becuase he wanted to make sure that the employees didn’t steal anything.
Procedural History • The State of Minnesota convicted Kelbel in violation of first-degree murder, past pattern of child abuse, and second-degree murder. • The Supreme Court of Minnesota sentenced Kelbel to life in prison. • Kelbel first appealed that the jury must find beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed the violations. • Secondly, Kelbel appealed that the evidence presented was insufficient.
In 1936, Charles Lindbergh Jr, the most famous baby of the era, was kidnapped. After a two year search, the police arrested a German immigrant, by the name of Bruno Richard Hauptmann, for committing the crime of the century. However, this man was innocent, for he did not commit this aghasting crime. Instead, John Knoll, Isidor Fisch, James Warburg, and Violet Sharpe are guilty. To prove this point, police tampered with some of the evidence to make Hauptmann look guilty.
Is Brendan Dassey guilty? The issue of the murder of Teresa Halbach is important because 16 year old Brendan Dassey is accused of rape and 1st degree murder. This is debatable because some believe that Brendan along with his uncle Steven Avery were the killers and rapist of Teresa Halbach, while others feel the suspect is still on the streets. A reason why people believe Steven Avery is the suspect is because of the few minor incidents that has happened in the past.
Leif, however, was NOT the leader of the Vikings in his lifetime. The only things Leif Eriksson led were his voyages to the new land (Canada, which he called Vinland), not the Vikings. This means that he is not responsible for the actions of the Viking raiders, but he is only responsible for leading his crew to and from Canada, so he will be defended as leader of his crew. Upon reaching Canada, Leif sends out most of his crew to explore the area around him. When the rest of the crew returns, Thyrker the German did not.
Adnan was then found guilty of first degree murder and kidnapping on February 25th, 2000. He was sentenced to life in prison. Adnan is guilty. Why? Adnan Syed is the only suspect with a distinct motive, he loved her.
Adnan Syed Innocent or Guilty? If asked 12 weeks ago, it would have been so simple, but now a question that once seemed straight forward, is so complex. Sarah Koenig reports on the mystery, that all started on January 13, 1999, when an 18-year-old girl by the name of Hae Min Lee went missing. One month later, on February 9th, her body was found in Leakin Park, in Baltimore, Maryland. After an extensive autopsy, it was found that Hae was strangled to her death.
Where the courts come into play is when Erik got to his trial. During Erik’s trial the Columbine shooting happened. In the same town, with another white teen whose name was also Eric. This gave him an unfair trial because of the media surrounding the shootings. Some might argue today, that if Erik had a fair trial he, might not be found guilty or have a lesser sentence.
Of course, many people think Adnan Syed is guilty of murdering Hae by contradicting himself, by saying, “I am in here for my own mistakes.” He might have been on the edge of confessing his guilt until Sarah caught this and asked what he meant, and quickly recovers from his mistake. Adnan also slips his tongue by saying that he wants people to only look at the evidence, and not his personality. If I were convicted of a crime I would certainly like to have my personality be looked at, if I were innocent. So they could see what good I have done.
No one deserves to die, and no one deserves death. Some executions are justified, but David Herold’s was not. Herold was a skilled and talented man who was deprived into a corner to help a killer. James L. Swanson’s novel, Chasing Lincoln 's Killer, a diary entry, “Last Diary Entry of John Wilkes Booth,” and an article, “Lincoln Writ of Liberty” contain evidence that proves Herold’s innocence. Herold did help a murderer; however, he is like everyone, in that he is susceptible to violent threats.
SCAND100 In order to become a great Viking leader, one needs a strong army, loyal allies, and a commitment to defending one’s kingdom. Olaf Trygvason was a controversial leader and king born during a critical period in Norwegian history. Although there is little evidence of Olaf’s upbringing, there are many tales of his travels as a Viking and army leader. Olaf was immediately at risk due to his father’s murder while in the womb of his mother.
The Supreme Court of the United States of America in 2012 ruled that juveniles couldn’t be tried as juveniles and be sentenced to life without the possibility of bail, no matter how harsh the nature of the crime committed. Justice Elena Kagan argues that juveniles who commit crimes typically have a rough upbringing or unfortunate circumstances which cannot be controlled by the juvenile. She argues that if they are serving a life in prison without a chance of parole, it causes damage to them psychologically due to the lack of experiences. They will miss the most important moments in life that define who they are as an individual.
The legend begins with an intricate history of the Danes’ leadership, showing the high regard the Anglo-Saxons had for their rulers. One of the kings, Shield Sheafson was a “scourge of many tribes” and “a wrecker of
Furthermore, it is also axiomatic that Erik has a rather violent temperament. For instance, he attempts to injure Paul Fisher on a multitude of occasions. Correspondingly, he is fractionally culpable for the aforementioned cessation of the life of Luis Cruz. Erik could further be portrayed as easily irascible and negatively impulsive. As it is described by Tangerine
In the case of Mary Barnett, I agree with the courts decision to find her guilty of second degree murder and manslaughter. This is largely based on my analysis of the witnesses presented during the trial and the demeanor and actions of the defendant. Having an associates degree in psychology helped me formulate decisions about the role of each character and what part they were to play during the course of the trial. I utilized the teaching from the text book as well as the concepts from my social psychology class which required me to people watch and analyze the surroundings, body language, and actions of others.
