Of Mice of Men is a book about two men trying to earn money for their own place, while lennie has a disability, so George has to have him by his side most of the time so he doesn’t get into trouble. While at this farm for a job they run into trouble. Throughout the John Steinbeck novel, the main characters demonstrate George has to take Lennie's power and control away due to the fear that Lennie can’t handle it and could go overboard with it by accident. Lennie can’t handle it and may go overboard. But more often than not, he has to take it away completely. Throughout the novel Lennie seems to have no sense of self control, which in turn causes George to take away his control and force Lennie to learn the hard way. When they were up in a town called Weed, Lennie saw a girl wearing red dress. When he went to touch it the girl freaked out. Once he let go the girl told the police she had been raped. So they had to run away. There was an occurrence where lennie lose self-control and ”What he do in weed. Well he seen this girl in a red dress the dumb bastard like he is, so he wants to touch everything he like. just wants to feel it.
