Would you be able to kill your friend knowing you could give them a peaceful death instead of being afraid in their last moments? George from the novel Of Mice and Men faces a decision for his companion Lennie. Lennie is a mentally handicap friend of George, in John Steinbeck’s novel. Lennie hit his last straw when he accidently kills Curley’s wife. Curley, Carlson, and Slim went looking for Lennie but Curley was going to make him suffer. George went ahead of them and talked to Lennie about their dream ranch and killed him by shooting him in the back of the head so his last few moments would be peaceful and happy. I think he made the right decision because Lennie otherwise would’ve been afraid in his last moments, George didn’t have to deal with the fact that someone else killed Lennie, and Lennie was dangerous to himself and to others. I don’t think I could kill my friend but, I think it was good that George did because he gave Lennie those last few moments in color. To himself and to others around him. Lennie killed many mice, a pup, and Curley’s wife. There was also an incident in weed the last place they worked, Lennie touched a girl’s dress and scared her. She screamed and he latched onto her dress because she scared him. He also crushed Curley’s hand because Curley picked a fight with him and George told him to fight back, the only thing he thought to do was catch Curley’s hand and under his grasp he crushed it. He didn’t know his own strength that’s why all of these things happened and because he was frightened. Without proper care and watching over he is dangerous. I feel that it was not his fault completely but because of the situation and the things that happened that George was right in his decision to kill
