There have been many revolutionary writers from many different eras and backstories, but many cannot outshine the influence and advanced writing style of Leo Tolstoy. He created new ways of seeing characters and thought outside the box when it came to plots and book ideas. Tolstoy also had a unique background that flowed into his writing. This left hints of his memories and thoughts throughout his strange stories.

The book does not view this as a bad thing. This is shown through her husband, after discovering her betrayal, comes to terms with the fact that she is not in love with him anymore. He then allows her to leave him. Though this does not happen until very late into the book, by writing an entire novel about a women in a bad love situation, Tolstoy changes the world of fiction. He provides a normal person that can be viewed as a hero or a villain. Also by writing a story about a cheating wife, and many other side stories included in the novel, Tolstoy expresses a lot of social, political, and philosophical ideas and arguments. These increased depth to the story. The husband, having been cheated on, seeked a little revenge. This gives Anna Karenina a minor theme of revenge throughout the novel, but it is not really expanded on in the plot. Which is odd because Tolstoy uses his epigraph to point too this theme. In this epigraph he includes Romans chapter twelve verse nineteen which discusses how God will take care of revenge. This is what Anna’s ex-husband chooses to believe after his wife cheats on him. Here Tolstoy gives us a little taste of himself as he tries to prove this idea to his audience, and even himself after all he has been
