Leonardo da Vinci Essay
“Learning never exhausts the mind”, was a quote by the famous inventor, artist and scientist Leonardo da Vinci. (Leonardo da Vinci Quotes). Some of his most famous works were The Mona Lisa, The last Supper and his notebooks full of scientific observations and experiments. He was self educated for the most part and spent a vast amount of time coming up with new ideas theories. At the time however, science was not an easy concept to understand for most, so he was most recognized for his art. In this essay, Leonardo’s life will be examined based on his young life, his art and inventions.(History.com staff)
Young life
Leonardo was born in Anchiano, Tuscany, in 1452. He was born out of wedlock, and his mother remarried after his birth and began a new family. At around age five he moved in with his father, Ser Piero. As da Vinci got older his father realized he was talented boy and apprenticed him to Andrea del Verocchio, who was a well known art teacher in Florence. Under his teacher, for many years Da Vinci worked on mastering his abilities as an artist. The young life of Leonardo Da Vinci with the help of his teacher, greatly influenced his abilities later on as he became a more recognized artist. (History.com staff, History.com)

The Mona Lisa which now is displayed in the Louvre was painted from 1495 to 1498. His other famous painting The last Supper which was painted to go in the refectory of the city Monastery and was 15 by 29ft tall. (History.com staff, History.com). These are not da Vinci's only pieces, however. He is also known for pieces like Vitruvian Man, and his own self portrait.
