I choose to research Leonardo Da Vinci. I choose him because his artwork sounded interesting. He is well known for his famous paintings like the Mona Lisa and sculptures and murals like the Last supper. Here are three facts about him: he kept the Mona Lisa until he died, he served twice as an architect and an engineer and he created a new technique for painting murals on walls.
He was born on April 15,1452 in a farmhouse in the hills of Tuscany outside a village in Italy. He died at the age of 67 on May 2, 1519. There was no information on how he died. His mother was a peasant and his father was an artistic man. He had a little education beyond basic reading, writing and math. His artistic talents were shown at an early age. There was also no information about who he trained with or who trained him. He created drawings, paintings and sculptures. He mostly used paintings because he was in the painting guild.
One famous painting by him was the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa was created in the 1503. It can be found in the Louvre museum in Paris, but it was stolen and the painting was recovered in Italy. There is no information about why he created the painting. He used the painting style to create the Mona Lisa.
An other famous mural by him was the last supper. He created between 1495-1498. There was no information about why he created it. He used his own style of his own technique of painting murals. It is located in a religious place in Milan, Italy. My favorite piece of artwork by Leonardo Da Vinci is the Mona Lisa.
The Mona Lisa is my favorite because it leaves a mystery about who the real person who is in the picture. The impact that he left on our society is that his pieces of artwork inspires other artists to create new things and come up with artwork that'll be one of a kind.
