Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy. Leonardo is one of the famous Italian renaissance artist. He is not just a painter, rather he is also well known as a sculptor, inventor, anatomist, draftsmen and in many fields. Leonardo liked to study this, how it work and drawn many sketch of things. This painting itself is a wall painting created in the refectory. Because the painting’s architecture appears to be contin-uous with the actual architecture of the refectory, it seems as if the world outside the space of the painting is organized around Christ (textbook). Da Vinci uses many different principles of elements in The Last Supper painting. One of the most significant one is the one-point linear perspective. This system focuses viewers’ attention on Christ, since the perspective lines appear almost as rays of light radiating from Christ’s head. By doing the one-point linear perspective da Vinci is giving the Christ as the main focal point of the painting. Because of the all the rays are pointing towards Christ’s head viewers see Christ as the main person. Da Vinci employ Christ as the emphasis in order to draw viewer’s at-tention to that one particular area of the work. So for that, da Vinci established a strong contrasts of light and color.
