Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the greatest painters of all time and was considered a creative genius. He was a leading artist of the Italian renaissance. Although he was best known as a painter he was also a sculptor, inventor, mathematician, botanist, anatomist, engineer, architect, and writer. There are theories that Leonardo included many different hidden messages and symbols in his paintings. One of his most famous paintings is The Last Supper, which is a mural painting of Jesus sharing his final meal with 12 disciples. Jesus Christ is in the center of the painting. Some people appear older than others. There is also multiple different facial expressions. Also, Leonardo made sure you could easily identify certain Saints. For example, Saint Peter is always shown holding a knife, Judas is recognized from the purse of silver he carries, and John usually looks feminine. Everything in the painting is cohesive. It makes you want to be skeptical of all people you encounter. It makes me feel like under the right circumstances most people will betray you, and it's usually those closet to you who will do so. I feel a deep sadness for Jesus as he looks very devastated in the painting. It's a hard pill to swallow when you try to do right by people and show them the way in life, only for them to stab you in the back over something like money.
