Born in 1452 Leonardo Da Vinci was an illegitimate child meaning he could not go to school, be a merchant, and much much more. One of Leonardo De Vinci’s beliefs was that he should not have been treated differently because of his illegitimate states because it was something out of his control. Because he wanted to be wealthy and could not proceed the normal path to wealth, which was becoming a merchant so he decided he needed to learn on his own. At age 14 Leonardo started his first apprenticeship with Verrocchio, who was a very successful painter during his time. Because of Leonardo’s love for science and engineering so he started to invent more than paint.

When he was 20 in 1472, the painters' organization of Florence offered Da Vinci an enrollment, yet he stayed with Verrocchio turning him into a more creative master of the arts. Around 1482, he started to paint his first piece of art called The Adoration of the Magi, for Florence's San Donato, a Scopeto religious community.

The topic I chose to study is the work of da Vinci’s perspective, light, shadows, and color in painting. From my research, I learned how complex art actually is. In fact, Leonardo’s art (and the work of others) relies on geometry, mathematics, and theories of shading and color. There are plenty of theories and mathematical factors that need to be learned for an in-depth understanding. I do not know what motivated Leonardo to spend time as an artist, but I do know of some minor factors that contributed.
Leonardo Da Vinci was engrossed in the study of the arts at a young age. He received no formal education beyond the basics of reading, math, and writing. Da Vinci's father helped pursue his art by introducing him to a well-noted painter, Andrea del Verrocchio, of Florence. 1482 Da Vinci began to paint his own commissioned work called The Adoration of the Magi. He ended up relocating to Milan to work for Sforza Clan, as an engineer, architect, painter, and designer, never getting to finish the piece.
According to, http://www.history.com/topics/leonardo-da-vinci, Leonardo da Vinci was born in Anchiano, Tuscany (now Italy), nearby the town of Florence, which provided the nickname we identify with him today, “II Florentine.” Indisputably, Da Vinci’s uncle in particular, was an essential example of what da Vinci had later become. As a matter of fact, his uncle did help raise da Vinci when he was a child, as it said in the article in http://www.history.com/topics/leonardo-da-vinci. He never really gained any general education and learning besides basic reading, math, and writing. Although, da Vinci’s father in particular highly appreciated da Vinci’s talents in painting and drawing.
He did not grow up wealthy so he didn’t get a real strong education. Da Vinci taught himself most of the things he knew but one thing that came natural to him was his artistic abilities. When he was 14, he was given the opportunity to broaden his knowledge on “metalworking, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting”(www.biography.com) with an admired artist of that time, Andrea del Verrocchio. Verrocchio and Da Vinci worked
