Leslie Groves, an American leader, General, and fighter. The leader of the Manhattan project, a man of excitement that had no boundaries or limits. Leslie Groves was an amazing worker, a leader, and the creator of the Manhattan Project and designed the architectural structure of the Pentagon. The years of hard work really paid off for him, as he was a hero of the twenty first century. His life was a long, extraordinary ride and had the smarts. J. September, 1942 was the date that Groves was appointed head of this experiment. The main reason of this was because of his previous work at creating camps, depots, air bases, munitions plants, hospitals, airplane plants, and the massive Pentagon. Groves was a leader The Fat man and Little boy changed the world today, how we fight and what we use, the nukes opened a whole new generation of chemical warfare.In addition, The Bombs took a few years to complete with the help of many scientist. The test date was decided to be at Alamogordo Air Base, New Mexico. At 530, the 16 of July, 1945. The test and retrieval of notes were hidden till 1974. The test consisted of the Fat Man and Little Boy dropping which later transitioned as the Hiroshima bombing after pearl harbor. The two nuclear bombs had been propped up on a one hundred foot stand in the middle of the desert. The stand was made of a heavy steel. The hole after the explosion was massive with a 1200 foot diameter. All that was left was rubble and dirt. The steel from the tower had mostly evaporated, with only small pieces 1500 meters away. The nuclear warheads had left 20 miles of damage as the farthest reach was shattered windows. When the Aerial photos were taken and the smoke cloud had reached a whopping 41000 feet above sea level the pictures came out spectacular. The equivalency of this bomb had been calculating as 15000-20000 tons of tnt. The test had been put forward of everything as there is documentation of a letter written by, Leslie Groves to Henry Stimson(Doug Legend).
