One lesson idea from my unit plan: This lesson will take place in Social Studies class. Students would have already learned about the causes and events of the Holocaust. The objective of the lesson would be for students to examine different stories and accounts of individuals who survived the Holocaust. Another objective will be for students to analyze different sources of information. A final objective will be for students to collaborate with classmates. The teacher would begin the lesson a do- now question that will be posted on the board. The do- now will include a motivating question that will get students thinking critically. The groups will have a discussion then move on to the next station. There will be a total of 5 stations. After all the groups have visited each station and answered the discussion questions, the teacher will go over each survivor with a PowerPoint presentation. The class would end with a discussion. The teacher will use differentiation during the lesson. The teacher will model for students what it is expected of them at the station and how to examine the information and analyze sources. The teacher will have visuals at each station to give students a visual of the information. The teacher will also group students in cooperative groups so that all learners will benefit. Cooperative groups will encourage discussion, students can help each other, and students will learn from each other. Cooperative learning groups will benefit students with disabilities, English language learners, and the entire class. Students who are academically gifted could research more about the survivors on the school computers in the classroom. Also the teacher will be reviewing the information in a Powerpoint with visuals and a video to benefit all
