Carol Rose is the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts. Being a lawyer and journalist, Carol has spent her career working for and writing about human rights and civil liberties, both in the United States and abroad”(Rottenberg 36). Because of her eminent profession, one would naturally assume that Rose leans more towards a liberal point of view. In regards to tattoos, that assertion would be correct.
Anne McClintock wrote her essay “Gonad the Barbarian and the Venus Flytrap: Portraying the female and male orgasm” to examine pornography and how it has changed throughout history and its effects on how women perform as sexual beings. McClintock focuses on the various roles of pornography such as its emphasis on voyeurism, pleasure, and the male ego. She wants her readers to know that women are still not represented in pornography to satisfy their own desires, but they are there to cater to men and their subconscious. I will analyze how McClintock argues that due to the history of sexism towards women, the roles that men and women have in pornography are inherently different because of the societal belief that women are only seen as objects of sexual desire and are solely there to satisfy the male audience.
What would happen to the world if kids of any age were able to watch any movie, listen to any song, and create any art they wanted? As a group, society gets uncomfortable when it comes to women’s sexuality and nudity, especially in public. Natalie Angier, a journalist and New York Times best-selling author, is not intimidated when it comes to these matters. In her book An Intimate Geography, Angier explores the female body and all of its wonders. This novel opened my eyes and my attitudes to many events that are happening in society. When reading Natalie Angier’s book, the element that captivated my attention the most was the chapter regarding breasts, titled Circular Reasoning.

I believe that the author’s thesis is about the issue of censorship and how it impacts our First Amendment. The author presents us a two different perspective of the issue. Such as, our practice of our First Amendment can lead us to a place where someone can create materials that we may find offensive. But are protected by the First Amendment at the same time could have people who want to limit offensive material and therefore, through censorship are limiting the First Amendment rights of others.
