wrote to white clergymen while he was in jail. The challenges that he talks about is racism and the injustice of the white church. In King’s time, racism was a big thing. Everywhere you would go, you would see segregated things like drinking fountains or buildings. King has talked to the leaders of Birmingham and they have agreed to remove the humiliating racial signs from the stores. Even though they agreed to take down the signs, they just left them there like the negotiation never happened. How King solve this challenge was to be tolerant with the whites. He basically accepted what has happened and continues to do what was needed to be done to end segregation in Birmingham. King wrote in the letter that he was “gravely disappointed with the white moderate” since they didn’t do anything about the racism in Birmingham. They were basically said that they were doing what the law told them to do. What made King to be disappointed in the white clergymen is that they did what the law told them to do and not follow their faith. They basically talk about Maya Angelou’s life and advices about like. The challenges in this interview are racism, being bias, and struggles of life. In the interview, racism and bias goes together, and the solution for it is being tolerant. No matter what bad things that people has said to her, she would just brush it off and let them have it in a good way like if someone said “Who do she think she is?” to her, she would brush it off by saying “I’m a child of God. I’m not only a child of God, but God loves me.” Saying that is amazing and having the confidence of saying that is also amazing. The biggest challenge that everyone faces is the struggle of life. Everyone would think being about their choices to see what happens like if I do this, then will this happen or will that happen. It just makes a big mess in someone’s head. How Maya Angelou sole this big problem is by being confident, sticking to your principles, and by being present. You have to be confident in yourself to not get frustrated with life. Maya is a great example for being confident in yourself. She seems to be confident in everything she does. She had said that sher brings everything she knew with her, and she would not allow her life to be minimized by anything, especially from others. Maya is always sticking to her principles.
