For project 4, I wrote a letter to the President of George Mason University. In this letter I addressed the issue of secondhand smoke on campus. I chose to write him a letter because I feel like secondhand smoke is an issue that must be address. I let him know that many students on campus have an issue with smoking because they have to involuntarily inhale secondhand smoke. Writing him a letter is a call for action, it is the first step I am taking so that a smoke and tobacco free policy is enforced.
I was able to successfully take project 3 and change it into a letter because I focused on the main theme, which is enforcing a smoke and tobacco free policy of college campus. I used the theme for my essay to write a letter about how the President of George Mason should give his attention to the issue of secondhand smoke. For my letter, I was able to use a lot of the information I had from project 3 to persuade him on why he should take steps to enforcing a smoke and tobacco free policy for the students at George Mason.

I needed to make sure the letter I write is appropriate to send to him since he is a high ranking individual. While writing the letter, I had to make sure there was a purpose to all I was saying.
