Students should not have to wear uniforms in school.
The second article by Laura Clark, is more embracive towards the uniform idea, as she claims throughout the text that uniforms lessen bullying, increase the individual student’s behaviour and concentration and simply make the daily triviality of picking clothes disappear. The last article written by Suzanne Moore, shares the negative sides of wearing uniforms in school. Moore informs us how the idea restricts children and teenagers from doing certain activities and the uniform made her feel “dispirited by the ridiculousness of it” (p. 1, l. 12-13). There are plenty of reasons to why the uniform should be abolished; uniforms are expensive, many good schools don’t have uniforms and children bully each other because of their accessories instead of their clothes.
Imagine being able to wake up every morning, roll out of bed, put on the same thing you wore the day before, and head off to school. Not only would you be able to do such a thing, but all of your friends were doing it, too! Sound too good to be true? Well, it’s becoming more common in our society as school uniforms have gone beyond private schools to public schools. Uniforms have a positive effect on students’ self-esteem, attendance, discipline, and test scores.
A quote by Larry Wilder reveals that “68% of parents believed the uniform policy improved overall academic performance.” This allows us to see that after dress codes were required in schools parents saw an increase in their kid/kids grades. Another quote by Kim Schlauch says that “Uniforms/dress codes reduce distractions, allowing students to focus more on their academics.” This means that it is believed when kids follow the dress code they will be less distracted by the quality of their clothes or the clothes of others making it easier for them to work on their school work. The last quote by KIMA TV states that “The school uniforms create a better learning environment.
School uniforms make everyone look the same and follow rules to make the school look organized. Having school uniforms decreases. bullying and provides a safe environment for students. Uniforms are good to be required in schools because they make everyone look equal. There is no one being judged by what they wear and how they look every day.
School uniforms pro or con, this controversial subject has been going on for a while arguing it takes away students' self of expression or whether it helps establish a better learning environment. Which one truly is the best option for the future of our students and which one can truly maximize their potential for a better learning environment as well as the safety for them when they go to school, these thoughts are key points in when discussing the argument over school uniforms Starting with the pro side, school uniforms themselves have many upsides to them such as eliminating visible economical differences, which can be very helpful to diminishing bullying that is caused by a person's social/economic status, another upside would include the prevention of gangs forming because of how school uniforms would eradicate gangs being able to represent themselves via clothing. Eradicating gang association amongst the school grounds can definitely lead to a safer and better learning environment for the students knowing that they'll be safe when coming to school.
Imagine having to wear the same outfit day after day. Everyone says there are plenty of ways to express yourself, but most aren’t allowed. Many children around the world are forced to wear uniforms to school. Many times, these uniforms are expensive and further restrictions against expression and religion. For the students, they are uncomfortable in many cases and don’t really help to stop bullying.
School Uniforms: It is Not the End of the World To wear uniforms or to not wear uniforms? The hot topic on whether public school systems should carry out the idea of school uniforms has been around for a while. There are people who agree with the decision to implement the idea, and there are people who believe the idea should not be implemented. School uniforms should be placed into effect in public schools, because it will save parents cash, diminish bullying, and brings a sense of safeness to the school’s environment.

Often, students who suffer from bullying are self-conscious, and it is very difficult to express their ideas for fear of being rejected and being abused. The use of uniform creates equality between students and these in turn create security strengthening freedom of expression. When my children changed school and went to study in one uniform requiring our students, I felt like I 'd won the lottery. You know what that means saving time and discussions in the morning to choose clothes for children? In my opinion, the uniform not only helps us save time and also represents a cost savings.
Secondly, do you think kids would want to go to school because of the uniforms? My second reasoning is that kids might not want to go to school because they don 't want to be in close that are really dull, uncomfortable, and look like they are in a prison. The uniforms must be washed everyday and instead of just picking a new pair of close for the next day, if the kids parents don 't like how the kids
In conclusion, the debate over uniforms in public schools encompasses many larger issues than simply what children should wear to school on a daily basis. It also touches on issues such as freedom of expression and cultural wars. There are many critics of school uniform, but they are usually seen to be fighting many lost battles in schools. The concept of school uniform will with the safety in schools decrease the disciplinary issues facing schools and promote a positive school climate. Research has shown that lack of individuality and comfort among student results due to student wearing uniforms.
So based on my research that I get from the internet by “classroom.synonym.com/expert-negative-effects-school-uniforms.com, A study on the effect of uniforms on violence and substance use published in 1998 by David L. Brunsma and Kerry A. Rockquemore has found that a uniforms policy actually does not seem to have any positive influence on discipline. While discipline is usually one of the main reasons behind a school 's decision to implement a uniforms policy, this same policy could actually have a negative impact on student behavior, especially amongst teenage students. Teenagers are rebellious by nature, and imposing a uniform on them, especially after a period where they were allowed to wear casual clothes, may create tension in the school.” The students are able to participate in the discussion if they are comfortable on what they wear and to the people around them because they have the freedom to speak up. Confidence is a huge impact in our daily life specially to the teenager like us, wearing uniform is different in individual some may look good and some may not, other teachers will criticize you like for example you may be good in wearing uniform but when it comes to academic performance you’re not participative because you might think that wearing uniform is cool and it will make your academic performance be going up but then you’re because some student who don’t wear their uniform are having a good academic performance because of the comfortable that they get.
It actually has a lot of benefits like reducing distractions, reducing peer pressure or bullying, saving money, and enhancing school pride. At first glance, fashion might seem to have very little to do with learning, but as the saying goes, the clothes makes the student. Mandatory uniform policy has made a distinct difference in many schools. School uniforms will keep students focused on their education, not their clothes. According to A bulletin published by the National Association of Secondary School Principals stated that "When all students are wearing the same outfit, they are less concerned about how they look and how they fit in with their peers; thus, they can concentrate on their schoolwork".
Uniforms nowadays are acting as collars to students, and schools are holding the leash. Children and adolescents in school are in that adapting period of life, they want to find out and learn about consequences on their decisions. Schools need to create an environment that encourages creativity and inspire them to break out of their shell. The tradition of uniforms is a repetitive and binding curse that needs stopping. This paper tackles how school uniforms produce more problems than it could handle.
