Dear Men of Pi Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated: The brothers of the Pi Nu chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and I share the same slogan: “Achievement in every field of human endeavor.” I am a sophomore criminal justice major at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, graduating in 2018. My desire to become an active member, my community service involvement, and my leadership skills make me a strong candidate for your fraternity. I admire the brotherhood of Kappa Alpha Psi. All the men of this elite fraternity promote achievements academically, socially, and professionally. The Pi Nu chapter men have encouraged me to research if this is the fraternity for me. From Elder Watson Diggs to Edward Giles Irvin, the men of Kappa Alpha Psi never stop inspiring me through their commitment to the community. For instance, the Pi Nu chapter men worked with The Salvation Army and Toys for Tots foundation. One of the most rewarding service projects for me happened when my mother and I donated hats, scarves, blankets, and gloves to Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in November 2015. Besides donating warm clothes, I also raised $200 for the center. This was rewarding because it tested my communication skills, confidence, and attitude. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi once told me that “service and brotherhood are being a blessing to other people and, so, a blessing to God.” This resonated with me because I have always been someone willing to help no matter what the circumstances
