Lewis Carroll is one of the famous British writer all over the world. Esepecially, He is known by the book, Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland. Today, Carroll’s books are popular with people from publishing without a break. However, he had various aspects, not only a writer, but also a mathmatician, a photographer. How did he led a life actually? I will write about Carroll in this report deeply. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, best known by his pseudonym, Lewis Carroll, was born in the village of Daresbury, Cheshire, England, on January 27, 1832. The eldest boy in a family of 11 children, Carroll was rather adept at entertaining himself and his siblings. His father, a clergyman, raised them in the rectory. As a boy, Carroll excelled in mathematic and won many academic prizes. Although he went on to public school, rugby school, he was bad at sports. However he made effort to study only for three years. At age 20, Carroll was entered to Christ College and awarded a studentship. Moreover, he was appointed a lecturer in mathematics. Then, he came up against an enemy. It is the time. Carroll had desire that he stops time. It made him a photographer. At age 24, Carroll got the camera for the first time and began to take pictures of children in his room. Carroll’s room was filled with toys as children fascinate. He especially photographed naked girls. For him, camera is a charming thing that it can fix lovely girls in photographs forever. However, at age 48, he quitted taking pictures. In Lewis Carroll photographer, Takahashi claims that there are important two reasons. First, the most ambitious is writing on his life. In order to write, he needed to lose his hobby.
