Liberal Studies A Liberal Studies Education is a broad spectrum of information that expands the knowledge of the students. This education provides a foundation of knowledge in many subjects for instance language art, math, history, science, art and physical education. With that said Liberal Studies allows students to create new theories and connections between fields. In order for Liberal Studies Majors to have new theories and connections it very important to have some kind of structure. The lesson is about using an extension of striking with long-handed implements the activity is putting. In this lesson the objectives are motor and cognitive. The motor objective is students will be able to strike with a putter of their choosing towards a target set at self-determined distance at least 2 out 3 times. The cognitive object is students will be able to recite the cues for putting to a partner with one-hundred percent accuracy, the cues are set, bent, back and forth. The objectives are also the focus of the lesson plan. Going back to the article Hyland said the focus is "the discourse embodies key assumptions of academic practice: impersonality, cumulative knowledge construction, and empiricism, so that readers can relate a current claim to their understandings (120)." But framing is another important proximity. It is important because the teacher teaching the lesson needs to frame the entire lesson with information he or she thinks is appropriate for their students. For example in my lesson plan for golfing I had to assume the activities are appropriate for a fourth grade class. It's important for a teacher to know how challenging to make an activity, because as a teacher you don't want it to be too easy or difficult for a student. Sometimes as a teacher it can be difficult to assume the activities in your lesson plan are appropriate for the students.
