Pages two hundred one through three hundred of The Book Thief take the reader through the rest of part four to part six. These pages focus mainly on Max Vandenburg, and Liesel forming a bond with him. Also, within these one hundred pages, a few new characters are introduced as the plot moves along. Overall, I greatly enjoyed these one hundred pages of The Book Thief. I had trouble putting the book down at times. My favorite part of this section is when Liesel and Max start to bond, and Max makes a book for her. He writes a book for her called The Standover Man, which introduces new parts of his life that the reader did not know. In return, Liesel starts to give Max newspapers so he can fill out the crosswords and have something to do. I feel …show more content…
He spends his time reading, writing, or having imaginary boxing matches. I like how the narrator explains his past, and how he explains how Liesel and him are actually very similar. They both lost their family, and they both have horrific nightmares. I hope that he will start to feel better about himself and that things will eventually get better for him. I also feel bad for Liesel and Rudy because they are so hungry that they must steal. They have trouble with stealing this year; they do not get along with the new leader of their stealing group. This leads to them not being able to get the same amount of food they normally get, which causes them to go hungry. One thing I do not like, which has been repeated constantly throughout the book, is the used of German words, many of them without a description of what they mean in English. I like how Rudy stands up and defends another student, which would not benefit him at all. In fact, he would only get in trouble for these actions. This well represents his personality, and how refuses to conform. One thing I found interesting in this section is that the narrator reveals that Rudy is going to die and that he did not deserve the death he got. I wonder when this will happen and how
