In the short story “Chickamauga,” by Ambrose Bierce is a really graphic story that's main theme about life and death seems to be ironic. In the sense that the little boy liked the thought of war and victory after all he came from a family that conquests and where successful explores. After the little boy goes to out into the woods and gets lots he has this fable inside his head where he destroyed an entire army using a sword, and after any victory any good solider takes a nap by the river to cool off and get ready for the next battle. The next morning when the little boy wake up he come across the by the soldiers that have dismembered body parts but these soldiers are clawing almost looking like the living dead because they had scars ripped off …show more content…

He does, however, travel back in time to see he can restore this faith by talking to the Virgin, but become skeptical because he has this nostalgia to the world of dynamo the speaker thinks about the modern technologies that exist and wonders what will change if the new faith becomes of the Virgin. In todays world I think that “dynamo” is cell phone companies I believe that they have desensitize people. People have to either master them or let cell phones master the people. 5.Explain the irony in "The Story of an Hour.” The irony in “The Story of an Hour,” could be the death of Mr. Mallard after all he was a person that seemed to be look up to in the story. Everyone except his wife she seemed to be patronized in some way by Mallard. However, by the end the person that picks the raffle ticket is Mallard the one the picking them. I do believe that the reason Mrs. Mallard starts to cry is not because the death of her husband, but the fact that he is finally dead. I could have been for many reason maybe she was unhappy with him or the love didn't exist
