In Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, there is a constant struggle between individuals and their ability to shape their own identities. The play follows various characters that attempt to find the balance between dealing with hardships in life and their own personal desires. In contrast, “A Daily Joy to be Alive” by Jimmy Santiago Baca explores how individuals can strive to have control over their identities. External factors such as mental state, societal norms, and past behavior can limit an individual's ability to shape their own identity.

For my realistic fiction book talk I read Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. Liz, the main character, goes through many conflicts while now “living” on Elsewhere. The setting of Elsewhere is very identical to Earth. If you were to be in Elsewhere it would be hard to tell the difference. There are living things, houses, cars, and more.

Picture the world you knew all your life falling apart slowly right in front of your untouched eyes, natural disasters, one after the other, death, disease, famine, so much more. All of this is perfectly portrayed in Life as We Knew It, a realistic fiction novel written by Susan Beth Pfeffer. This book is the diary of a teenage girl named Miranda, which follows her along with her family as they try to survive the natural disasters caused by the Moon getting hit out of orbit by an asteroid. Along with the natural disasters, Miranda and her family also have to deal with the greed of other humans, diseases, the lack of food, and at times each other. The theme of Life as We Knew It is that love will get you through the toughest times because it is always better to work in a group, love gives people reason to live, and love can get people to do crazy things.
Enjoy life while you still can(temporary title) Death is an inevitable thing that will come to everyone when their time on Earth is finished, and it is why you should embrace the fact that we are all mortal, because one day it will be all over for you. Audre Lorde’s poem, “A Litany for Survival”, emphasizes the theme of survival with powerful images that Lorde uses to connect to the importance of preserving and surviving in the dangerous world we live in. The first-person speaker discussed how they “were never meant to survive”, which could seemingly mean that this was due to the amount of fears that caused negative emotions for the speaker and others to have to live with until their death came.
A Psychological Approach is a perspective study that involves certain assumptions about the human behavior and the way they function. The character that I will most likely be talking about is Hamlet. After, analyzing Hamlet, readers will understand how Psychological Approach is shown throughout the play and what is going on through the characters heads and how they’re behavior changes on later in the play. In Hamlet there are many forces that motivate Prince Hamlet’s behavior to change and seek revenge.
