Even for a normal well-adjusted individual, changing one’s life can be a challenge.
Now add an addiction to the mix and it can seem daunting at best.
While we may be unaware of our own, a significant portion of society suffers from some form of addiction.
You may have heard it before, but without a doubt, addictions are all encompassing.
Ranging from the seemingly innocuous to soul-crushing chasms.
Regardless of the degree of dependency, there is always an incentive behind it and in the cases of life-consuming addictions; there is no greater catalyst than our past.
As I mentioned, addictions are panoptic in nature and can occupy both ends of the good/bad spectrum.

On the other hand, a lack of balance can easily affect the quality of one’s life and should not be overlooked that even healthy habits can become an obsession.
Work, for example, can come between loved ones causing strain on relationships as well as preventing a person from joining in on life’s other experiences.
Consequently, those we love may feel diminished, perhaps due to our jobs, careers, or desires take president when it becomes a priority over all else.

Technology, which is incredibly pervasive in every facet of society, has become a significant contender in addictions.
Today, many have fallen prey to the newer binging whether it’s through social media, texting, gaming, or TV binging, it has become a primary obstacle, especially for today’s youth.
To reiterate, addictions impedes, ironically, our ability to connect with others along with our involvement in various experiences.
Addictions also are something that we pursue, as a consequence of something that happened during our upbringing either ignored, overlooked, or just learned behavior.
Perhaps something that was missing in our lives, withheld from us, denied to us, or abuse such as bullying leads us to do things that make us feel better, relieve the pain, and stress.
Sometimes by accident, like a physical one that affects our bodies therefore might be prescribed a prescription drug in order to help the pain.
Point being, is that anything is an addiction when we do not consume it in a healthy modest
