The lifestyle that is adopted by the daycare centre is a structured lifestyle. This is reflected in the observations where it can be seen that the centre runs on a routine. There were daily timetables placed around the centre. Every day is divided into different timeslots for specific activities: breakfast, exercise, 2 rest sessions, lunch, 2 group games sessions and snack time. The activities conducted would change although they are conducted at the same time every day. A routine is the regular execution of specific activities over time. Those who refused to follow the schedule were clearly not as agreeable to the structured lifestyle as much as the others. This could be a departure from their previous lifestyles where they were the ones who determined their daily activities. Prior to this they might have had their own routines and imposing a new one on them might cause resistance from them. In this case, the elderly refused to participate in the activities and follow the schedule.
