A living legend, Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., known as “Lil Wayne”, was born on September 27, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Wayne grew up in a town called Hollygrove, one of the poorest neighborhoods in New Orleans(Wikipedia.com). Wayne has been creating music since he was a child, he started rapping at the age of eight and he joined Cash Money Records at just nine years old. Wayne met Bryan and Slim Williams, founders of Cash Money Records, who gave him their business card and Wayne left voicemails of himself freestyling for them to listen to(Wikipedia.com). Being the young, ambitious rapper he was he never stopped contacting them and finally, he became apart of Cash Money Records and joined the group The Hot Boys. His first recording with them was labeled True Stories in 1993(Wikipedia.com). “Carter's debut solo album Tha Block Is Hot was released when he was 17 It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum by the RIAA”(Wikipedia.com). Other than having his fun in the studios, Wayne was not living a very good life.
