FIRST QUESTION Religion, what is a religion? You can define religion through your effort to overcome ignorance and gain correct knowledge. Or you can perceive it as Nirvana, a supernatural beatitude, a void, that extinguish that leads to peace and tranquility. Some ideas are used in the west but not in other eastern religions. They do have similarities which include each individual has to find their truth. They have to have self-effort and be responsible for you’re their sin .The more you know about yourself you will be able to reach of well-being. Many people use these words everyday. Do they know what they mean? Essential can be described as something that is necessary and sufficient. Something that is a must that provides a certain outcome for you. Functional(ism) is when you don’t depend on on your internal thoughts but instead on the way it functions, the role it plays in the system. The main Question is does any of what I just touched on exhibited in both Buddhism and Hinduism? Buddhism is a unique topic because the central focus of most religions is god or gods but Buddhism is non-theistic. The Buddha taught that believing in gods was not useful for those seeking to realize enlightenment. Hinduism is also a unique in the sense that there is no “one Hinduism”. Jnana is the path of wisdom and knowledge. You use your will and power to cut through the veil of ignorance and attain the truth. Bahakti is the path of love and devotion. You use the combined energies of all emotions to sublimate them into the highest of all emotion : prem. Prem is pure, condition-less, divine love. Raja is the path of self-control and self-mastery. You control your mind until it becomes perfectly still. The main practice is meditation. Lastly is Karma, which is the path of selfless service.
