In 1932, the Lindbergh baby kidnapping electrified and changed the country in an immense way. Bruno Richard Hauptmann pleaded his innocence right up until his execution, however, was still convicted for the murder of toddler Charles Lindbergh, Jr because of all the justifiable evidence presented. The evidence indicates that Bruno Richard Hauptmann committed the crime and that he might’ve had help from an unlikely source: Charles Lindbergh, Sr. The reason Bruno Richard Hauptmann was convicted for committing this crime was because of the vast amount of evidence presented. One piece of evidence is that when the police were searching Hauptmann’s house, they found that the attic floor was missing a piece of wood, and that homemade piece of wood matched the wood material of the ladder that was used to bring the baby down from the top of the building.
