he book White Fang by Jack London was a literary classic. The book was a work of pure fiction set in Alaska in the time starting in the year of 1896 until the turn of the century. White Fang is written in third person limited. White Fang is the main protagonist of the story, he is half dog, half dog. The main antagonist is nature itself constantly trying to bring White Fang to his dark demise. Another one of the main antagonists is Lip-lip. Lip-lip was always trying to rob White Fang of his food, and fight with him non-stop. Gray Beaver was White Fang’s first master, who becomes addicted to alcohol and sells White Fang. Many of their dogs and Bill were eaten by starving wolves. Henry, while trying to escape, is rescued by a large group of people which causes the wolves to scatter. White Fang’s mother’s name is Kiche, and in the beginning she mates with One Eye, White Fang’s father. They find a small cave where Kiche’s pups are born into the world. Four of Kiche’s five pups die within a week from starvation, leaving White Fang as her only pup. One Eye is killed by a linx while trying to find food near the linx’s den. Kiche later finds One Eye’s remains and kills the linx’s kittens to feed White Fang. The linx finds Kiche’s den causing a fight where Kiche is badly injured, but still manages to kill the linx. After Kiche recovers, they some across a Native American camp where Gray Beaver recognizes Kiche and takes them in. White Fang encounters other pups for the first time in the village. Lip-lip doesn’t like White Fang because he is part wolf. Lip-lip is a general nuisance to White Fang. As White Fang gets older, he becomes a very intelligent fighter. Beauty Smith sees this in White Fang when Gray Beaver brings him to town on a sled team. Gray Beaver is intoxicated and running out of money therefore
