One of the literary devices found in “A Good Man is Hard to Find” is Irony. It’s the way the grandmother sees herself. She views herself as a simple, real, and clever southern lady. Another Irony is the end of the story when the misfit and his partners hold the family at gunpoint. The grandmother didn’t want to save her own family, but save her life. She began to misfit an attempt to save her life. This story seems like the grandmother is selfish who cares only for her life but does not care for her family's life.
