I did my trailer of Little Deaths by Emma Flint. In my beginning slides, I show the two symbols of the story. There’s an open window which represents the opening of the book. Ruth’s children originally went missing through an open window which police said she left open to make it look like they were taken. The old beauty ad in the next photo represents Ruth’s obsession with her appearance. Throughout the story, Ruth is portrayed as a looks-obsessed person always working about her makeup or if her hair looks ok. This is a big part of the story. The police presence throughout the story is strong. They are tasked with solving the crime but all they appear to do is blame Ruth. Ruth of course continuously says she didn’t do it no matter how many times she says this the police continue to blame her. This book is actually based on the real case of Alice Crimmins. The photos of the woman were real photos of Alice since Ruth was based on her. The case happened in Queens, New York same as in the book. …show more content…

Instead of being boring and leaving it she created it into a side story. The picture of the reporter is representing Pete Wonicke who throughout the story becomes more obsessed with Ruth Malone. He learns the dark works of the police and how they don’t actually investigate anyone except Ruth. He becomes so obsessed he loses his job and spends hours watching Ruth following her to see her inner workings. Other men in her life include her ex-husband Frank, a wealthy man named Lou Gallagher, and an old police officer named Johnny Salcito. Throughout the story, Lou Gallagher is often shown as a suspect but is ignored by police. When Pete talks to a woman he learns she was pregnant with Lou’s child and hid from him as he harassed her to get rid of it. When she finally gave birth she passed out and when she woke Lou was by her bed and the baby was
