On August 4, 1892, Lizzie Borden was accused of killing her dad and stepmom. On this day, this it would go down as one of America’s biggest and mysterious murders of all time. Lizzie had possible motives that could’ve led to the killings. For instance, many have concluded Lizzie’s father could’ve been a possible rapist towards Lizzie. Basically, Lizzie alerted the maid after finding Andrew Borden was gruesomely murdered while sleeping on the sofa. The maid in the Borden family residence rested in her bed after having washed the windows and earlier vomiting due to the breakfast meal. Lizzie became the police’s immediate prime suspect. On to the investigation, Lizzie’s early actions prior to and after the murders made her suspicious and more likely to have done it. Lizzie had earlier purchased lethal poison, and during the investigation week, Lizzie burned a dress that she claimed was stained with paint, but investigators claimed it was blood. Lizzie’s actions were closely inspected and noted, so some event could’ve possibly been exaggerated. Investigators hopped right onto the conclusion that the dress was stained with blood. Although the poison could’ve been true, there’s no telling if it was going to be used for that purpose. In conclusion, Lizzie Borden’s actions were highly suspicious, but could’ve been with actual
