The Loch Ness Monster

There is said to live a beast in the Loch Ness lake. Some speculate that it’s an ancient dinosaur that has survived for millions of years. Others say it’s a so called Kelpie, a monster who would lure it’s victims into the lake by transforming into a horse. And of course there are those who thinks it’s simply a hoax to gain more tourists.

The Loch Ness lake is located in northern Scotland, and is the second biggest loch in Scotland. The Loch Ness lake is a popular tourist attraction due to the myth of the Loch Ness monster.

There has been a lot of people who has claimed to have seen the Loch Ness monster, also known as Nessie. But the first man to capture it on photo was Hugh Gray. He took the photo in 1993, the photo wasn’t considered as solid evidence, due to the blurriness.

The more known picture that most people think of when they think of the Loch Ness monster was taken in 1934, by a man named Robert Kenneth Wilson. The photo showed what looked like a creature with a very long neck sticking out of the water. Wilson Didn’t want to have his name associated with the photograph, so the newspaper that published the photo called it ”Surgeon’s Photograph”. One of these expeditions was done by a man named Roy Mackal. Roy had been interested in the myth of the monster for a while, so he installed a number of under water microphones through out the lake to try and record the creature, but you weren’t able to hear more than a kind of ”knocking” sound, as well as a loud swishing sound on the tapes.
