Imagine walking across the country with only a dog and a couple books to keep you company. Even in the book I’m reading people find that hard to believe or just insane. After all, who would willingly walk across the country? Well, I have the answer. Logan Thibalt would. In the story The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks, Logan Thibalt travels across the country to find a woman in a picture. Now this isn’t just any picture you can find in Wal-Mart. This specific picture helped him survive. A picture contained an attractive woman at a fair. Eventually, he comes to know the girl as Elizabeth or Beth. As they fell in love Logan avoided telling her about the photograph entirely. Of course he told her as much of the truth as possible. That’s only gets …show more content…
Clayton was so willing to try anything to break them up and send Logan out of the town. He was trying everything. Clayton even found out about Elizabeth’s picture that Logan held in his pocket and told Elizabeth about it. His plan almost succeeded, but after Elizabeth listened to Logan’s side of the story, she forgave him in no time. Clayton knowing the exact time that they made up was quite startled by this. He thought that it would cause Elizabeth to chase him out of town, but when it didn’t Clayton had to fix this unfortunate mistake. This tree house was not properly built and would clasps at any minute. Clayton, Logan, and Elizabeth wouldn’t let anything bad happen to Ben though. The event happened something like this, “Beth watched Keith and Logan struggle just before the remaining ropes attached to the central landing snapped. Across the creek, Beth saw that Ben was sill clinging to the rope attached to the central landing” (Sparks 320). The horror was unimaginable. If it wasn’t for the dog Zeus, Ben wouldn’t be alive after that horrific day. Although that day did claim one life, Keith Clayton. Clayton died trying to save his son’s life. He might of not been the best dad in the world to Ben, but that day proved that he truly loved his son and would risk his life to save
