Many characters in the story of Mice and men they are plagued by loneliness and alienation and are searching for friends Lennie is plagued by alienation and loneliness one example was when George patted a wrinkle out of his bed and sat down, then George said sable buck hell in the story there friendship was good it sounded like they are together every time Lennie has lived with him for a long time and is also his only friend, the same with Candy. But Lennie would want to stay in the bunkhouse alone with the rest of the men rather than going out with them, but George does not like Lennie interacting with other people. Their friendship ends in a very tragic way With Lennie's life on the line they are alone and George has no one to ask for help he is isolated but he is very kind and nice to Lennie and try to take care of them. Although they are all on the ranch together, they are lonely because of who they are and their past but George is physically a small man that takes care Lennie is unaware of his largeness and strength that has a gentle heart and likes to pet soft things to keep his company and George is a nice loving friendship that they have for a long time but sometime George is not happy with their friendship George says quite a bit about how much better his life would be if he didn't have to take care of Lennie he would have less problems despite Lennie’s disabilities When George first meets Lennie he knows instantly that they have a strong bond with each other because Lennie listens to whatever he tells him to do and they both see each other all the time and Crooks being a black man is discriminated and segregated towards by all the other ranchers that worked he felt lonely he said because he was black They play cards in there but I can’t play because I’m black he wanted to play cards but he could not but Through their many differences these two prove that they need each other, and through each other they learn how to survive in harsh and bad
