The first world war one began on July 28 1994. Before world war started a serious of defense alliance existed between many European countries. If one country declared war against another, other counties would be forced by treaty, to enter the conflict. There were five main causes of world war 1 which can be divided in to two categories. Long term causes; such as nationalism and imperialism, and short term causes; such as military, alliance created and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Imperialism were one of the underlying causes of world war one. For example, the German felt they need to conquer the other countries and colonize them.
