Linda Park’s A Long Walk to Water follows the stories of Nya and Salva as they experience the effects of the Second Sudanese Civil War. Throughout the novel, Salva has to survive through this war, making it difficult for Salva to live in hopes of finding his family again. Despite his challenges, he was able to go to America to learn and get an education.
