Book Report - Winterkill : Kate A Boorman Protagonist The main character in Winterkill is a young girl named Emmeline. Emmeline lives in a small settlement with her father since her mother died while giving birth to another, a son who accepted the same fate. Emmeline was extremely close to her mother and misses her dearly.
Since, his mother had tough time raising three kids by herself and Baltimore was getting more riot, she took him and his two sisters to live in the Bronx with their grandparents. At the beginning of their movement, Wes had hard time to adjust in new environment. His grandparent’s rules were stricter then his mother’s; all chores had to finished before he went out to play and he had to back home by the time streetlights went on. Immediately, his mother got him enrolled in Riverdale Country school which was in the other side in Bronx. unfortunately, His progress was not excellent in Riverdale.
The past experiences of the main character, Chris McCandless, had an extraordinary effect on his life and the gradual end he met in Fairbanks bus 142. Between Chris and his father, Walt, there was a lot of tension. Chris had always been livid towards his father for his actions that put a massive strain on the whole family. In the novel Unwind by Neal Shusterman, there are a lot of characters with a lot of different personalities. The main character Connor shows many different traits that make him above the others. When Connor has to choose over running away or giving up and getting unwound (killed) he choses to run. He gets pretty far until he ends up getting caught because he left his phone on. Although he may have been caught he wasn't captured and still had a trick up his sleeve.

He subsists with a minimalist lifestyle and is disappointed in his parents’ behaviors and their materialism.
