Clara is one of the most kindhearted characters in the book, although it may take some reading to realize that Clara cares for Alicia and other people like her. Clara owns a Mexican restaurant and has let Alicia work there for the past few years. Alicia had said, “She never fired me or threatened to, no matter how much I messed up.” (5). Even though Alicia barely spoke any English and could barely take orders Clara still gave Alicia the chance to work there. Clara may seem very tough and rude, but she has a soft spot for Alicia. Clara had let Morgan work at her restaurant even considering her background because she knew that would have helped Morgan. The dress may be covered in flowers of all sorts of colors like red, pink, orange, and yellow. The dress would have ruffles on the sleeves and it would have an oval neck cut. Covering the dress that Clara would wear would be her white apron she would wear while working. The apron would be covered in stains that she can not get rid of.
