Countless of poets have have been affected by the work of Lord Byron. His literary work in the Romantic movement is astonishing. Some might say that Lord Byron writes about what he is feeling, or his intuition. During the romantic movement, Lord Byron expressed his sexual desires for men and women. He wrote about these kinds of actions in his writings. Many people are impacted from these writings and desire to write in the same context of Lord Byron. Lord Byron influenced poetry with his use of symbolism, his use of romance, and use of his knowledge of other cultures reflected in his writings. He wrote that a couple of sea men and him starve in a life boat. Some of the other men start to eat each other. The people who became cannibals would go crazy and start to drink the sea water, which would make them go even more crazy. "For they, who were most ravenous in the act, went raging mad—Lord! How they did blasphemed and foam, and roll, with strange convulsions racked, drinking salt-water like a mountain-stream”. On the other hand, Don Juan keeps himself from doing these things, keeping him from going crazy. The people in the audience take cannibalism very seriously, because these kinds of things actually happened in the day. They would hang people who would joke about this matter. Byron reminds his audience that he knows when to stop. They understand and they are entertained by this. Lord Byron is known as the “Byronic Hero”, because he is vast in romanticism, also because of his insane life of travel and fame. The name in the title of Don Juan, a poetic work by Lord Byron, means lover or sweetheart. The name Don Juan had been used by other poets and authors, but hadn’t been widely known yet.
