“The battleline between good and evil runs through the heart of everyone man.” (Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn). The book “Lord of The Flies” was published in 1954 by William Golden. Golden wanted his book to show how everyone can lose their humanity. Goldening told a story about what can happen to anyone. Goldening was strongly taken back by what had happened with the Natzies and how other people saw it as an awful time. He wrote this book because he knew that everyone is capable of what Hitler did. “Lord Of The Flies” had two leaders. One leader showed the good and the other showed evil. The two leaders names are Ralph and Jack. In the story there are three things that make Ralph and Jack different. “The Lord of The Flies” shows three different themes they included leadership differences, Ralph has more humanity, and how Ralph matured when they were on the island.
Leadership, is one of the main themes in this book. When the boys crash on the island they come together to find that they need some leadership to be able to stay alive. At first Ralph shows that he really is capable of being a good leader. Ralph says, “We’ve got to have some rules and obey them. After all we aren’t savages” (32). Ralph understands from the start that they need some rules so that they kids don’t turn into savages. “Let’s have a Vote. Vote for chief! Let’s Vote” (21). Ralph shows that he really will be a good leader because he has the right mindset to get the boys home. Jack is
