"Most of the Evil in this world is done by people with good intentions. " These wise words of T.S. Elliot relate to how William Golding, the author of Lord of the Flies, represent from where evil emerges throughout the story. Evil will not exempt kids, who are very innocent, from perpetrating uncivil acts. In the story, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of British schoolboy's evacuation plane crashes during World War II, leaving them stranded on the island. Golding emphasizes how the boys encounter their civil ways while evil emerges onto the island.
In Lord of the Flies, the war paint represents the savagery that has taken over the kids. Towards the beginning of the novel Ralph said, “ ‘Well, we won’t be painted,’ said Ralph, “because we aren’t savages’ ” (Golding 66). This quote shows that at first the children had control over their savageness in them. When the the children were first introduced to the island they still had a lot of their manners, that controlled their savageness.
The effect of isolation on a group of boys who are stranded on an island after a catastrophic event. Two British boys get stranded on an island and end up trying to survive with different and horrifying situations with themselves or among others. A storm builds over the island, Simon finds the paratrooper’s body and realizes it’s true identity. He heads to Jack’s camp to give everyone the news about the beastie, meanwhile, Ralph and Piggy realize that the the biguns were loyal to Ralph so out of curiosity and hunger, they end up going to Jack’s camp. Jack, then, orders a dance in response to the downpour; Simon crawls out of the forest and tries to tell them about the beastie’s true identity but the boys end up having a crave of killing and kill Simon.
Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all revolution. Until We stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.” - Thomas Edison. This quote explains the cause of people becoming savage. Killing, fighting, breaking rules, bullying, etc., are causes for a change in behavior of a person leading him/her to become savage.
Oscar Wilde once wrote: “Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth,”. I think this quote is trying to say that when you give someone a mask, they will tell you anything more openly. This will happen because no one knows who is truly hiding behind the mask. Also, what you say will not be judged as harshly by the people you know since they don’t have any thoughts about you before hand since it is anonymous.
Evil Will Soon Take Over Everyone has a positive and an evil side, sometimes the evil side is just waiting to come out. Throughout the novel Lord Of The Flies by William Golding, Golding illustrates how much someone can change in just a little over a year. How can a young boy go to a boy that's hungry for blood? A group of young boys were part of a plane crash and they were stranded on an island for 15 months with no adults.
In Lord of the Flies there is a war between civilization and chaos. The side of chaos is Jack’s side and the civil side is Ralph’s side. Jack’s side has no hope for civilization, there is just chaos because all they want to do is eat, sleep, kill and repeat. In the end chaos takes over the island, but there is hope for civilization.

This quote is a very important piece of the novel because it foreshadows what will commence in the last 4 concluding paragraph of this extensive novel. This quote also conveys a dominant message that picks up on the major motifs of the novel. This quote is meant to make the readers think about the conclusion of the novel while pushing them to fully understand the major events that occur in the novel such as the Tom Robinson trial in which Atticus defends Tom. In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, a group of stranded boys survive on an island with no adults, soon their sense of morality falls apart and violence takes place. The loss of morality causes the boys to break the rules and become violent. Eventually, the boys become uncivilized and stop caring about their actions. People in our society face experiences and deal with problems that make them lose their sense of innocence. Once their innocence is gone they forget how to act according to society and start to act wild. The loss of innocence is seen all throughout Night and Lord of the Flies. Elie and Ralph face a series of unfortunate events that can break someone and their ideas of civilization. The life experiences they were thrown changed the way they acted and felt towards the end.
LORD OF THE FLIES Golding’s Thoughts on Good and Evil Good and evil are often thought of as choices and humans think, “Which path will I choose?” In having these thoughts, they confuse themselves, for evil is an untamable force. The novel Lord of The Flies presents the idea that evil is instinctive and make humans weak in the wake of its power. The author of the book, William Golding, conveys these ideas to us through the actions of the characters he writes about.

That's why it is a sin to kill a mockingbird.” Quoted by Atticus Finch and Miss Maudie.
