Humans are animals, just like pigs. All animals have a common ancestor in which they all relate back to. All creatures, animals, and humans tend to their offspring. They care for them and teach them the fundamentals of eating, walking, etcetera. When children are born, they do not understand the right versus the wrong, which is why it is vital for children to have parents when they are growing up. Parents guide children to follow society’s rules and if left unchecked, the child might wreak havoc and cause disruption to society. This is the case in the award-winning Lord of the Flies by William Golding. The book starts with several boys, Jack, Ralph, Simon, Piggy, and many others stranded on an island after their plane crashes. They must come …show more content…

When trapped on the island, all of the boys lost their parents or guardians, causing them to act differently. The boys began to go insane and believed there was a beast that lived on the island, when in reality the beast was just within themselves. The boys thought that if they paraded and danced to worship it, that the beast’s opinion of them would turn to them in favor. Thinking it would work, they chanted: “‘Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood! Do him in!” (Golding 152). Later on, the boys killed a “sacrifice” and later realized what they had actually done: “At once the crowd surged after it, poured down the rock, leaped onto the beast, screamed, struck, bit, tore. And by their very nature, he added, children bounce the question back to their elders” (Sachs). This may be correct, but everyone knows that there is a way to deal with these types of thoughts. The boys in Lord of the Flies had killed Simon and Piggy, yet everyone denied it. One way to fix this was to talk it out with the other group members because they did not realize what they are doing. There will always be people in life that are willing to help others, yet people do not seek advantage of this. Parents should also be present for the child, helping him/her get through the first couple of years, and teaching them how to cope with such thoughts. If a parent is present for the child and is understanding, that might decrease the thoughts that children have. There are many ways to deal with these types of thoughts and
