As usual, hear me out and read what I have to say before you react. Go into this with an open mind and relax. Ok, now let me explain. The Oklahoma City Thunder will go down in history as the organization that ruined a team filled with three rising superstars in their prime. Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden are all MVP candidates this season and somehow they all ended up on the same team.
Have you ever wondered about the greatness of many teams? Have you ever understood the struggle and adversity the Oakland Athletics have faced or the fame and fortune of the Los Angeles Dodgers? Both of these teams have great histories and have some definite differences. The start and the position has helped one team and hurt the other. Both teams can be compared together and contrasted apart.

The American Dream was once the idea of being able to come from poverty and take that and create something from nothing making a better life for one’s family than had in the past. In the book They Say, I say With Readings Cal Thomas and Brandon King have both written papers discussing the topic of the American dream each author using a different angle to exploit their views on the topic. This paper will analyze both author’s texts, creating three different points made by each and comparing them. The first point will be on the American Dream and how it is portrayed in both texts. The second point will cover any texts used in the essays in comparison to the other paper and how those writings improve the author’s argument.

The Dream Is Still Alive David Ortiz was a kid from the Dominican Republic with dreams of playing Major League Baseball; now he is a future hall of famer living the American dream. The American dream to me means being financially stable and successful in the career I’m in. Like David Ortiz the American dream is still possible to people who are willing to work hard to achieve their dream and people who are determined because of the obstacles they have to overcome.
Did you know that Michael Jordan averaged about thirty points a game, and retired with six NBA championships. The debate between who the best basketball player of all time has been going on for many years. Two of the names that come up a lot in this conversation are Michael Jordan and Lebron James. Many of the reasons why this decision can never be agreed on is because of many things. Those things including statistics, how many NBA championships have been won, and what you have been awarded with by the league and sports analysts throughout your career.
The Long Christmas Ride Home by Paula Vogel is a play about a family of five, and their experience on Christmas day, as well as the future of the three children. I believe that this was meant to take place in the early-sixties to the late-seventies because of the mother’s housewife role in the play, and the way the grandfather would accept the mistreatment of his own daughter from her husband, but would stand up for the mistreatment of his grandson—a clearly sexist view that would not be accepted in today’s society. Another hint about the time period is that Stephen died from a disease contracted during sex, one that eventually killed him. This makes me think that this was before or during the AIDS epidemic. The children are Rebecca, age twelve,
Out of all the people that try out for the NBA/NFL, only 1% of those people actually get in. Many people are debating on the topic of whether the NBA/NFL should make college a requirement. At the moment, people are wanting to shut down the law so that the players who try out don’t have to go to college. Over 100,000 people try out for the NBA/NFL but only a little bit of people get in. That leaves a lot of people’s futures destroyed, so most people say it’s good to have a backup degree just in case.
In her hauntingly beautiful novel Tell The Wolves I’m Home, author Carol Rifka Brunt introduces readers to June Elbus, a distinctively shy, sensitive, and gloomy teenage girl growing up in New York in 1986-1987. June’s favorite uncle and person Finn has AIDS, a disease that takes his life in the early part of the book. June learns that Finn had a lover, Toby. At the end of the story readers see June and Toby forming an unlikely friendship. Regardless of the fact that she does so unconventionally, Carol Rifka Brunt tells the story Tell The Wolves I’m Home as a coming of age story.
The introduction of the piece is the same as that of “The Raiders March”, but with strings playing in the background. The A melody begins with the trumpet as the strings fade out (0:07). The first minute and a half of the song is played the same as that of “The Raiders March”, though due to differing sound equalization, some parts stick out more or less than they do in the original. For example, in the third repetition of the A melody, one can more clearly hear the xylophone accompanying the melody here than in “The Raiders March”. The piece begins to differ more significantly after the break following the third repetition of the A melody when the piece modulates down a half step instead of up like in the original (1:37).

Air ball— again. My form was lost, coordination gone, and so was my patience. I’ve stopped playing basketball for 3 months mainly because of school work and things going on in my life. I was determined to get my skills back no matter how long it’ll take. I started a game of basketball with other people inside the gyms court.
